What Is Blood Pressure?
When your heart pumps, it forces blood through your vessels. This force is called blood pressure.

When Is Blood Pressure Too High?
High blood pressure is also called hypertension. This is when your blood pressure measures 140/90 (140 over 90) or higher most of the time. The higher your blood pressure, the greater your chance of having a stroke.
