When Anxiety Becomes A Problem Anxiety–feeling frightened, tense, uneasy–is a normal response to a threat. Constant worry can make it hard to eat, sleep, or enjoy life. Persistent anxiety can rob you of energy, happiness, and self-confidence and make you want to hide from life. ![]() Who Does It Affect? Some people are more prone to persistent anxiety than others. It tends to run in families, and it affects more younger people than older people.
