Selivanoff (Seliwanow) test (for fructose in urine) to the urine is added an equal volume of hydrochloric acid containing resorcinol; formation of a dark red color after boiling for 10 seconds indicates fructose. Called also resorcinol–hydrochloric acid test and Selivanoff reaction.
